Kristy approached us with a strong social media presence, specifically Instagram, and a good pop-up market stall business. The highly engaged social media audience were already placing orders via Instagram &; Facebook. We launched the eCommerce site in February 2016.

Blacademics

Blacademics

 

Blacademics is the brainchild of Kat Henaway.

Blacademics is an online platform that hosts programs, products and services for Indigenous future students, current students and alumni. Blacademics provides online services that assist in supporting enrolment and retention of Indigenous university students in Australia.

Blacademics will launch in September 2015.

Project Overview

 

Blacademics is in its first phase of development and as such only a small budget was allocated to Logo and branding elements. We were able to accommodate and produced two Creative Concepts [CC] and a shorter review process to fit the budget.

Our methodology helped Kat to better understand the design process. We also gave Kat an insight into licensing from a design perspective and what is required when developing branding guidelines.

Yabun Festival

Yabun Festival 2015 presented by 93.7FM Koori Radio

Yabun Festival is the largest one day celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in the country.

Held annually on 26th January upon the traditional lands of the Gadigal people at Victoria Park, Camperdown, the festival has a vibrant program of the arts, dance, music and speakers.

Project Overview

 

NGNY introduced the Gadigal Information Services team to a three stage branding process, allowing them to create the brand direction for Yabun Festival 2015 & 2016. Implementing a long-lead timeline was important to allow the Gadigal team an opportunity to consult with necessary parties. This also extended to the delivery of final artwork design.

NGNY established the first stand alone Yabun Festival website for the 2015 edition. A simple one page site with static information was settled on by the client. Analytics was implemented to give the client real data for future site development.

IndigenousX

Indigenous X

 
IndigenousX was founded by Luke Pearson in 2012 and is a rotating Twitter account with more than 18,000 followers. Each week the IndigenousX twitter account is hosted by a different Indigenous person.

There has been over 140 Indigenous hosts who have shared thousands of stories, facts, reports, pictures, and laughs with an ever increasing audience. It has raised awareness of countless issues, programs, stories, perspectives and organisations, amongst a myriad of other insights.

NGNY was tasked to build a website that could contain profiles of all previous and future hosts and become a central access point for all information relating to IndigenousX.

One of the main focuses was building a platform for IndigenousX that would allow for long-term expansion. These areas included eCommerce, custom user profiles & forum facilities.

Jumpstart App

Jumpstart

 

The JumpStart app is a product developed as partnership between Supply Nation & CBA. HPE also partnered as the official app development partner.

NGNY worked alongside Supply Nation to assist in the product development stage and provide insight from an Indigenous business perspective.

The JumpStart app is designed to help Indigenous business owners access the skill and knowledge within corporate Australia.

Project Overview

 

This project was managed using lean methodology work flow and user centred design principles.

The app will initially become available on Apple devices and later on Android.
